Everyone has run into this problem at least once in their life: you’ve planned a ‘night in’ to watch a movie but you just can’t decide what to watch! So take a break from all the wedding planning, call your bridesmaids, pop some popcorn, and pour a glass of wine (or two!) because these flicks will not disappoint.
1. My Big Fat Greek Wedding
If you have a big family, this movie is a must-see before you say “I do.” According the The Box Office, My Big Fat Greek Wedding is the highest-grossing wedding movie of all time! Snuggle up with your groom-to-be to watch this big, fat, and fun wedding flick.
2. Bride Wars
This wedding flick is perfect to watch with your lifelong BFF or MOH. In Bride Wars, these best friends take ‘Bridezilla’ to a whole new level. The story of true love and friendship makes this Rom-Com one you don’t want to miss.
3. 27 Dresses
Have you been a bridesmaid one too many times? Do you have a little sister who sometimes outshines you? Do you like the song “Benny and the Jets”? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, 27 Dresses should be at the top of your binge-watching list.
4. The Wedding Singer
Everybody loves an underdog story! In The Wedding Singer, Adam Sandler plays a heartbroken musician whose day job is singing at weddings. When he falls for an already-engaged waitress, played by Drew Barrymore, he fights to win her heart. This goofy yet sweet wedding classic is one that doesn’t get old.
5. Wedding Crashers
Trying to avoid wedding crashers on your big day? Maybe not once you watch this hilarious wedding flick. In Wedding Crashers, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson are best friends whose favorite hobby is crashing weddings. The best part about this flick is your man will want to watch too!
6. Mamma Mia!
“Here I go again! My my, how can I resist you?” This musical is not only romantic, but is so fun to sing and dance along to. This movie is great to watch with your bridesmaids or your mom- Amanda Seyfried & Meryl Streep are major mother/daughter goals!
CAUTION: You most likely will have the ABBA soundtrack stuck in your head for a few days. (It’s worth it)
7. The Proposal
Ryan Reynolds is fun to look at – enough said. Besides that, The Proposal is a non-traditional love story about a New York book editor who is facing deportation. In a desperate attempt to stay in the country, she blackmails her assistant into marrying her. This comical wedding flick is a must-see. Did I mention Ryan Reynolds?
Possibly one of the funniest movies on our list, Bridesmaids is a TOP pick to watch with your ‘I-Do Crew’. This wedding party’s road to the ceremony is a wild one you do not want to miss.
9. Father of the Bride
This movie is great to watch with – you guessed it – your Dad! Squeeze in some father/daughter time before your big day and watch this wedding flick about a bride and her overprotective father. Bonus points if you watch it over Father’s Day weekend!
10. The Wedding Planner
“Alright, alright, alright.” Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez play the perfect match in The Wedding Planner. The only problem is, he’s her client and she’s his wedding planner – oops! Take a break from your own wedding planning to watch this playful wedding flick.
11. Princess Diaries 2
While you are never too old to watch a good Disney movie, this flick could be a great opportunity for you to hang with your flower girl. Paint your nails, put on a face mask, and feel like princesses for the night!
12. Sweet Home Alabama
“Why would you want to be married to me anyhow? So I can kiss you anytime I want.” Cutest. Answer. Ever. This cute, country classic emphasizes that while you can take the girl out of the South, you can’t take the South out of the girl!
13. The Princess Bride
The Princess Bride is a classic fantasy for the bride that loves fairy tales. The flick combines romance, action, comedy, and adventure to create the perfect movie night.
14. I Love You, Man
Does your groom have a serious” bro-mance”? If so, this is the movie for you. This comedy will you have you ROTFL all night and the guys will like it too! (You’re welcome, boys.)
15. Letters to Juliet
Last but not least, Letters to Juliet is the perfect movie for the hopeless romantic. This twist on the classic love story, Romeo and Juliet, will sweep you off your feet AND make you want to plan your honeymoon in Italy!
