How did you meet?

“My older brother, John, convinced me to tag along with him and his friends to go riding in the snow. There he introduced me to Hughston. I reluctantly went, but in the end I’m so glad I did because I ended up meeting the man I was going to marry. John ended up being Hughston’s best man in the wedding.”

When did you know you were falling in love?

“Growing up, I always wanted to marry someone just like my daddy that put the Lord first and always showed love and respect towards my mom. As our relationship grew I realized that Hughston had all of these qualities, and I knew I couldn’t live without him. He’s my best friend.”

What is your favorite quality in your husband?

“My favorite quality about Hughston is how he has treated me with such respect from day one.”

Hardest part of wedding planning?

“Wedding planning was like a dream for me thanks to my wedding planner Abby Stridde and my mom. Everything was so organized that there was no stress, so I was truly able to enjoy and remember every single moment on my wedding day and I will cherish that forever. I went to the Pink Bride show after I got engaged and that was the perfect jumpstart to my wedding planning bliss!”

Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?

“My grandparents gave me the gift of hosting my reception on their property, which made it that much more special since I grew up playing there. Their home was transformed into a beautiful garden courtyard. The bistro lights above us and the trees around us made it feel like a dream.”

How about your dress or attire?

“My wedding dress was elegant, classy, and timeless. My favorite part of the dress was the big bow on the back – a tribute to the dress my mom wore when she married my dad.”

What was the most memorable moment?

“One of the most memorable moments was the church doors opening up and I looked down the aisle to see the expression on Hughston’s face. The other was when my nine little flower girls danced down the aisle. I looked at them and it made me think of when I was a little girl dreaming in my own little world.”

What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?

“Be My Forever by Christina Perri. We chose this more upbeat, fun song because we wanted to set the tone for the fun, adventurous life we have ahead of us. In that moment surrounded by family and friends under the twinkling bistro lights, everything was perfect. We felt like we were on top of the world.”

Tell us about your grand exit!

“All our guests were lined up along the walkway as we stepped out the grand front doors that night. There were bubbles, kisses and so much love in the air as we jumped in the Model T off on our first night together and the beginning of our new forever!”
