One word to describe this wedding is FUN! When you’ve known each other since the 6th grade (I mean, how stinkin’ cute, right?), getting both families, friends, and loved ones around is definitely going to feel like a celebration! Jane and John’s big day did not disappoint with so many memorable moments and wonderful photos by Waldorf Photographic Art! See it all below!
How did you meet?
“We met in 6th grade band class!”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“John was always the friend I had that was in my corner. He asked me to be his girlfriend 4 or 5 times from the time that we were in 6th grade until we were seniors in high school. I always told him I appreciated our friendship. After I turned him down when he asked me to senior year prom in 2012, (I know I’m awful!) I decided to ask him on a date. After the first date I realized how much I actually liked him, and we started going on more dates. Realizing I liked him was the part that took awhile, after that…falling in love was so easy!”
What is your favorite quality in your husband?
“When he really wants something, he never quits.”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“We wanted it to be a wild celebration. We have had so many of the same friends for so long, so we just wanted everyone to be able to celebrate with us. We both had 12 friends on either side of our wedding party. Most of mine were my college girls, and most of his were our guy friends from high school. It was really fun to see everyone having such a great time together! It really made for a fantastic and fun weekend!”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“Our first dance song was ‘Free’ by Zac Brown Band. We have loved that band for awhile, and that song always stuck out to us. We decided to make it ‘our song’ once we officially started dating. We even went to a Zac Brown concert back in 2015 and had a blast. We couldn’t imagine dancing to anything else.”
What was the most memorable moment?
“I had so many moments that I will never forget with my maid of honor, my mom, my family, my girls, and of course my incredible husband. But the best part of the day was the dance with my daddy. We have loved dancing together since I was a little girl, so we decided we needed to ‘do it big’ for my big day. We trained for 8 weeks before the wedding and came up with a long routine that had all of our favorite songs. Even though we got to perform it for all of our family and friends, the dance was really meant for us. We are so close, so the time we got to spend practicing together is irreplaceable. It was something I will never forget!”
Tell us about your grand exit!
“Around 11:15, all of our guests lined up outside of the country club. They held me and John in an adjacent room, so we could wait for everyone to get into their places. We were sent through a long tunnel of large BLUE glow sticks. At the very end, our friends were all holding sparklers! We kissed, hopped onto the back of the golf cart and rode away… only to realize I had forgotten my purse!”
Best wishes Jane and John!
