Classic, Southern, and elegance are the perfect three words to describe Paige and Hasan’s stunning day! You just can’t beat this timeless theme paired with one of the sweetest couples! Plus, their love for their city is absolutely precious! Get ready to swoon!
What is your favorite quality in your husband/wife?
Paige: “My favorite quality in Hasan is his loyalty. He is ALWAYS on my team and always has my back, no matter what. I know I can count on Hasan and I know with his support and encouragement I (and we) can get through anything!”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“Hasan and I met at law school in August of 2012. We had all of the same classes together and ran around with the same group of friends. Around December/January of 2012 we started spending more and more time together alone. I knew I was falling in love with Hasan in early Spring of 2013. I found myself missing him as soon as he would leave and wanting to spend as much time with him as I possibly could. I absolutely love that we built our relationship on our already existing friendship–love is easy when you are best friends!”
I mean, how stinkin’ sweet!
What was the most memorable moment?
“It’s really difficult for me to pinpoint one moment from our wedding that was the most memorable. The whole day was such an a emotional blur, but I think for me, it was right before I walked down the aisle. It was the first occasion all day where I could just breathe and silence my mind for a moment. It was so special to have a moment with my dad to just reflect and realize that all of those people were there to celebrate our love. It meant the world to have our friends and family travel from all of over the country to be there and celebrate with us!”
How would you describe your big day in 3 words?
“BEST DAY EVER!”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“My biggest goal was to incorporate our love for the City of Memphis into our wedding. We got married at a home right on Beale Street and FULL of Memphis History. We also served a Memphis favorite, fried chicken, for dinner and it was a HUGE hit! We chose to do a dessert table rather than a traditional cake with all desserts from local places here in Memphis. Throughout law school, any time I had a rough day, Hasan would bring me a slice of strawberry cake and everything was better! So, we did have a smaller, strawberry cake, too!”
“My FAVORITE inspiration came from our favorite team- the Memphis Grizzlies! Our wedding favors were personalized ‘growl towels.’ We draped them over the back of the seats for the reception, just as they do at Fedex Forum for Grizzly playoff games!”
What traditions did you incorporate?
“Something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue were my favorite ‘traditions’ that we incorporated. My something old was my 45 year old, floor-length, GORGEOUS lace veil. The veil belonged to Hasan’s mother and she wore it when she married Hasan’s father in 1972. It was SO special to me to be able to incorporate something from Hasan’s mother on my wedding day.
My something new was my wedding dress from Low’s Bridal! I was insistent on a simple, yet elegant wedding dress that would compliment the veil, and the two worked PERFECTLY together! My something borrowed was my grandmother’s two gold bracelets that I wore on my left arm, and last, my something blue were my blue suede heels- because, again, WE LOVE MEMPHIS!”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“‘I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You’ by Elvis. We chose this song because we LOVE the city of Memphis. Hasan was born and raised in Memphis, and it is the city where we met and fell in love. He has taught me to love this city and take pride in calling Memphis home. What better way to represent our love for Memphis than dancing to a song by the King?!”
And with matching blue suede shoes, too!
Tell us about your grand exit!
“Our grand exit was down the stairs in front of the beautiful Hunt Phelan. The house and the fountain were both lit up, and our friends and family all waved their growl towels and sparklers as we ended the night! The sparklers made for BEAUTIFUL pictures!”
