Are you feeling lucky? Irish or not, there’s plenty of love here for this St. Patrick’s Day wedding inspiration! We love a good themed wedding, and this one filled with emerald, gold, and so many traditions is climbing to the top of our list! If you’re getting married with a little shamrock spirit, here’s to being lucky in love for the rest of your lives!
Use Green Of Course!
One of the easiest ways to incorporate the theme of the day without being overly cheesy is by using the color green. Whether you’re leaning toward one shade or many, playing up the green aspects of your decor is so effortless! We are a little partial to the shade emerald for a refined look though! Using mostly greenery (think your table runner and bouquet!) or green flowers is such a natural, and fresh way to do so. Another way to integrate the color is in your attire. Have your bridesmaids wear green dresses or each groomsmen wear a green bowtie, tie, or even a smaller cufflink in green depending on your taste. Take a nod from country music singer, Kasey Musgrave’s new hubby and have your guy don a green velvet jacket!
Irish Inspired Food & Drink
If you don’t want shamrocks and green everywhere, but still want to incorporate the holiday or your heritage, try including Irish-inspired food or drinks instead! Make sure your bar is stocked with Guiness, Jameson, or your other favorite Irish whiskey or beer. Or you could have cute signature cocktails with Bailey’s instead! Talk with your caterer about adding a Irish-inspired side dish like Irish buttered carrots, lemony salt-roasted potatoes, or using lamb as a main course option. For more of a themed food item for your Irish guy, get creative with his groom’s cake!
Feeling Lucky in the Details
If you are all in with this holiday and want to show off the rich color, four leaf clovers, and more, then go for it! It doesn’t have to be in a flashy way though! You can include various elements of the holiday in your decor and details so easily. Adding in aspects in your invitations can give your guests a clue to the themed day! Even if your invitation, escort or place card is not completely green, a simple shamrock included can totally work for an understated look. Adding “lucky” favors for your guests are also a cute way to play up the theme, while keeping the rest of your wedding traditional.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
