LOVE STORY:  Casey and I actually went to the same high school. We didn’t start dating until after a couple of years out when our friends all started hanging out together.

Our engagement began at a weekend trip to Gatlinburg, TN, for New Years. We went up a day earlier than all our friends and had a nice dinner out, then went out sight-seeing. After staying up on the Space Needle for over half an hour, we finally left. When we got back to the hotel room, he got the courage to ask. He says he wanted to ask on the Space Needle, but with all the crowds, he says it just didn’t feel like the perfect moment.

BIG DAY:  The big day was absolutely perfect; however, we definitely had a couple hiccups. The first one occurred when the preacher asked for the marriage license, and we all realized that I had left it at home! So, we actually had to get someone to run and get it (Debarge Vineyards is over 30 minutes away from anywhere), making our wedding start late.

During the ceremony, we planned on having unity sand. Our parents were going to pour sand into two small vases, and then Casey and I were going to take those vases and pour sand into a large vase. However, when the moment came for us to head to the vases, it only took a minute to realize all the sand was already in the big vase! This will always be a memory of the wedding that will make me laugh.

WEDDING DETAILS:  Casey and I were engaged for a little over 6 months. We had been together for four years before getting engaged, so we knew we didn’t want a long engagement. After picking May 5th for a date, we knew we needed help with planning a wedding in such a small amount of time. Jane, owner of Debarge Vineyards, recommended Veronica Seaman, and she was perfect for us! Her company offered online planning tools to help as well.

The most important thing about my wedding, aside from seeing Casey for the first time, had to be the matron of honor speech. My sister, Melody, made the speech. It was beautiful and captured our journey as a couple perfectly. I think everyone listening was in tears when she finished. It will always be such a special moment for us.

Veronica definitely helped guide us towards a vision with the wedding. Our vision included an elegant wedding with a not-so-formal approach. In picking the colors, we knew we wanted coral. I’ll always remember what Veronica said when trying to select additional colors. “I was thinking the sun setting with the selection of these colors. Imagine the light blue of the sky and the peach of the sun as it set with burst of bright coral of the beams through the clouds!” With all that in mind, we had light blue table cloths, peach napkins, and all the bridal party in coral. It was perfect!
