Get ready to cozy up because this wedding is giving us all the winter feels for the upcoming season! Samantha and Tanner’s winter wonderland wedding is sheer perfection with accompanying photos from the talented Magnolia + Ember. We adore the personal touches and the love between these high school sweethearts! Get all the details below from Samantha!
How did you meet?
“We met fall of 2011 in a high school history class.”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“One night as we were saying goodbye outside of my parents house and my now husband told me, if we were are still together one year into college I am going to ask you to marry me. And he kept his promise!”
What is your favorite quality in your husband?
“I love how sweet and silly my husband is. I can be having my best day or be at my worst and he still finds a way to make me laugh or reminds me how pretty I am even if I haven’t washed my hair that day and just threw myself together.”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“We always described it as ‘wintery but not Christmasy.’ Our planner knew exactly what we meant.”
How about your dress or attire?
“We got my dress from Fabulous Frocks in Franklin, TN. The experience was amazing. It was just my mother and I and it was perfect! Also, we were able to use beads from my mother’s wedding dress to help make my vintage hair pieces.”
What traditions did you incorporate?
“December 18th is a very important day for me. It is the day my parents got married back in 1992. I couldn’t think of any better way to remember my father but with the love and devotion my husband and I have for each other. Just like my parents did 26 years ago!”
What was the most memorable moment?
“My husband says his most memorable moment is our cozy first look. He just couldn’t wait to see me that day! Mine was definitely the reception. Our DJ was a high school teacher of ours and he and his wife were amazing. He interacted with the guests, planned fun games, and we just had a blast! My favorite part is when YMCA came on (which is my grandmother’s jam) and she started dancing and even threw off her cardigan because she got so into the moment!”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“We chose ‘Ho Hey’ by The Lumineers. This song was fun and different, yet it was still a tad traditional. This is how I would describe our wedding as well.”
Tell us about your grand exit!
“We left the ballroom and exited down the stairs inside the Magnolia entrance. Everyone waved little flags and ribbon and cheered for us as we got into a horse drawn carriage to be carried away and start our new lives as husband and wife!”
Cheers to you Samantha & Tanner!
