If you don’t want to take our word for it, just keep scrolling and get the behind-the-scenes from Aubin herself!
What is your favorite quality in your husband/wife?
“His humor. I love how silly he is and how often he makes me laugh and smile.”
What was the most memorable moment?
“During our picture taking of just Richard and I before the ceremony, our photographer, Katherine Birkbeck, told Richard to whisper in my ear his favorite food in his sexiest voice. He told me ‘I like donuts’ in a deep ‘sexy’ voice. It was hilarious and one of my favorite moments from the day.”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“It’s hard to pinpoint a specific time that I knew, but there were several moments where I thought, ‘there’s something really special here.’ Our first kiss was one of those moments. It was our freshmen year in college after one of our dates, and I describe it as a fairytale kiss. After the kiss I remember wondering why I felt so out of breath, and then I realized that I hadn’t breathed in a while and that the kiss had literally taken my breath away. It was magical and one of many moments that lead to me falling in love with him.”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“The wedding dress was definitely a big inspiration for the day. While we didn’t go completely vintage in the rest of our wedding décor, we went for a classy, simple feel to match our personalities and the look of the dress.”
Tell us about the dress!
“I wore my grandmother’s wedding dress that she wore when she got married back in the 50’s. My mother also wore the dress when she married my father in the 80’s. This may not be considered a tradition, but it was very special for my grandmother, mother, and me.”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“Our first dance was to ‘Dancing in the Moonlight.’ Growing up, I loved the song and dreamed of some day dancing to it with my future husband. On one of our first dates, I found out that it was one of his favorite songs as well. Three and a half years later, we both still love it, and with the history of it being a part of the beginning of our relationship, we chose it as our first dance song.”
We wish you the very best Aubin & Richard!
