The lush green grounds, the elegant florals, and the classic architecture of the Missouri Botanical Garden were the perfect backdrop for Eric and Surbhi’s wedding. Erin Ridge from Woven Bone Photography captured the elegance and romance of their day beautifully.

Tell us a little about your love story

Eric and I are from the same hometown, and we went to high school together. My favorite quality about Eric is that he always knows how to make me laugh! We’ve been in a long-distance relationship since we started dating. I love that we are in the same place now that we are married.

I knew I was falling in love with Eric when I stopped wondering if we were going to have a future together and started planning it without any doubts. I am surprised how easy it has been to transition from dating to being married – it feels like nothing has changed!

Did you do a first look?

Eric and I didn’t have a first look before the ceremony. Even though a first look would have made our day logistically easier, I am glad that we didn’t. It was worth it to see Eric’s genuine reaction to be as I was walking down the aisle.

Even Though I didn’t have a first look with Eric, I did have one with my father. It was such a tender moment for both of us.

Was there a part of your wedding that held a personal significance to you or your spouse?

We wrote our own vows and had a friend officiate which was really special to both of us.

What was the hardest part of wedding planning?

The hardest part of the wedding planning was trying to remember all the small details that needed to be ironed out! “

Did you have a theme for your wedding?

We had to plan two weddings at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. Our first was an Indian ceremony the night before. For our second ceremony, we chose an elegant floral theme that tied into the beautiful gardens around us.
