You may recognize this gal’s face from our past Knoxville magazine cover (with Katherine Birkbeck’s amazing photo skills!) and as a writer for a few of our blogs! Today, we are giving her wedding a special shout out and Peyton herself has given us all the deets on her big day!
First, tell us a little about your hubby!
How did you meet?
“At UT in 2012.”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“We both knew after one month of officially dating.”
Who said “I love you” first?
“TJ.”
What is your favorite quality in TJ?
“His caring, selfless personality for others and his work ethic.”
Okay, now onto the wedding!
Did you have any specific design inspiration for your big day?
“Regal, classic, glamorous style.”
And she captured this in her attire perfectly!
What made you choose Katherine Birkbeck Photography? Would you recommend them to other couples?
“Yes, absolutely. She is down to earth, easy to work with and I loved her style of photography.”
Was there a part of your wedding that held a personal significance to you or your spouse?
“I had a true first look with my dad and my bridesmaids .. only my mom, sister and grandmother had seen my dress before the big day, so those were some really special moments. Then, TJ and I did not do a first look. And seeing his face, about to explode with emotion when I walked down the aisle made it all worth the wait.”
Favorite aspect of your wedding?
“Ah, hard to choose just one! We loved how intimate the ceremony was and then how fun the reception turned out .. we wanted our reception to literally be a party, so it was nonstop dancing with tons of strobing lights and loud music all night long. Fun doesn’t even begin to describe it!”
When you both cheered for UT, of course you have to show off on the dance floor!
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. We love Ed Sheeran (he’s one of our favorites!) and TJ actually heard this song when it first came out (before we were engaged) and told me that he thought that should be our first dance song one day, and so it was!”
Tell us about your grand exit!
“We ran through a tunnel of our friends and family holding sparklers and throwing white rose petals while they screamed and chanted ‘I said … It’s great to be a Tennessee Vol!’ and then we exited in a white stretch limo.”
What do you look forward to most as newlyweds?
“Kids someday – and traveling the world.”
What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage?
“Cheesy, but honestly how I literally love him more everyday. Like, I really didn’t think that would be possible after we got married but living together, we get to see new sides of each other that creates such a special bond that we have with no one but each other.”
Congratulations once more from all of us at The Pink Bride, Peyton and TJ!
