Derrick proposed on a cool January night at a cabin nestled inside the Smoky Mountains. We were miles from the nearest paved road. It was a clear night, and the only light was the bright stars and the candlelit path that was filled with thousands of rose petals. At the end of the path was a burning glow with the words, “Will you marry me?” When I turned around, he was on one knee.
Our big day went off without a hitch. The flower girls and ring bearers kept the mood light. That helped because we laughed to keep from crying. I think some of the most memorable moments were the best man and maid of honor speeches. It doesn’t happen often, but those speeches were priceless. The wedding colors were blush pink and ivory. Our wedding favors were unique. We gave apple butter that was homemade by the bride, groom, and family. Everyone we worked with was great. We were more than happy with all of our wedding professionals. Beverly with Main Street Catering was a one-stop shop. She made our wedding day carefree, and she brought our vision to life. Tricia at Tricia’s by Design was amazing. She can give you the exact dress you want, even if she has to make it from scratch. Robbie with Night Moves was the perfect DJ service. Let him have the reigns, and you are guaranteed a good time. Bobby and Debbie Shelley were the perfect team. Bobby officiated the wedding, and Debbie made sure everything went as planned.
