This week I spoke with the lovely Peggy Lowe of Flowers Forever Inc., a family owned business that uses state-of-the-art freeze-dry to preserve your wedding flowers. This is a must-have service if you plan to use real flowers for your wedding.
While Peggy isn’t involved with the logistics of the actual wedding day, she plays a special role in making the memory of her couples’ wedding day last forever. “Brides tend to forget certain aspects of their wedding day because it’s such a whirlwind. We like to recreate those lasting memories by preserving them.”
Did you always want to have this career?
“I actually was a consulting teacher for years prior to preserving flowers. I’ve always had a love for children with special needs. I also coached a Special Olympics soccer and assisted with the Very Special Arts Festival every year.”
What characteristics make you good at your job?
“I love it! I like tedious work that once completed is immediately gratifying. And, I love seeing the expression on the bride’s face when she sees the finished product.”
Can you share a favorite wedding moment?
“When a bride cried when she picked up her frame and said ‘It’s gorgeous. I had forgotten what it looked like.’”
Peggy mentioned it makes her proud when brides tell her pictures don’t do her work justice. I can attest that pictures most certainly do not showcase the talent of Peggy and her team. You have to see Peggy’s work in person. Her work is phenomenal!
