A chic, natural vibe defines this irresistible Southern wedding near Knoxville, Tennessee.
Strong family ties and handmade details make us swoon. Everything from the colors to the flower choices make this celebration both timeless and charming. The bridesmaids wow in cream and beige gowns with tussled hair styles, while the bride stuns in a classy frock created by her own grandmother. Her long hair boasts soft curls and is swept to the side in a sleek, airy design that perfectly complements her gown. The men sport light blue shirts with navy pants and skinny ties, while the groom also dons a suit jacket. The flowers are altogether amazing for this wedding! We love the wild, rustic look of each bouquet and garland, which perfectly complement the venue’s outdoor spaces. Natural, timeless elegance shines through in every detail of this celebration.
Get this look for your own big day by sticking with a neutral color palette and opting for flowers that seem like they are part of your venue.
Your whole wedding will look like it fits together like a puzzle piece! Not to mention, it’ll look fabulous for decades to come as well.

Tell us about your love story!
We knew each other since middle school because I was best friends with his cousin. We had a little fling back then, but were too young to really know what a relationship was! We are very much opposites, but somehow exactly the same when it’s just me and him. He is an introvert and likes to be by himself, and I am a people person and love being around a lot of people and can be friends with anyone. We have balanced each other out so much – me bringing him out of his shell and him toning me down.
He is a fisherman, and I usually don’t like going fishing with him but this one day I agreed to go for some reason. He pretended to fish for a little bit, and I was just singing loudly listening to music. He pulled up on a bank on Fort Loudon Lake and tied off, and I saw a metal bucket. By this time I kinda figured out what was going on. I picked up a sign in the box that said “Turn Around,” but I picked it up on the wrong side and was already facing him (haha). He got down on one knee and totally forgot what he was going to say, but it didn’t matter because we were both crying uncontrollably. He asked me to be his wife forever and I of course said YES! He had a blanket and a playlist on his phone, and we just laid there for two hours before we told anyone. It was our secret, just me and him knew. It was a nice calm before everyone started calling and congratulating us. He told me later that he forgot to even get a fishing rod because he was so nervous, but luckily there was one in the boat.
Describe your wedding planning process.
We were engaged about 7 months. I planned the whole thing, but my friend Lindsey helped with organization before and the day of wedding. I was planning on doing all of my flowers on my own, but when I went to the Pink Bridal Show, I found a florist that was exactly what I wanted! It was my best decision to get her to do my bouquet and some garlands!
What about the details?
I wanted it to be classic, something that wasn’t just trendy and me look back on it in 10 years and say WHAT WAS I THINKING. Which I find a lot of people do. I wanted to keep it very simple using mostly nature (because that is timelessly beautiful). This was also nice on the cost end because we didn’t have too many decorations!
What was your wedding day budget (and for how many guests)?
We never really set a budget (not that our budget was limitless or super high) but we knew we weren’t going to spend a whole lot. We really wanted about 75 guests max, BUT it ended up being about 175 guest list!! It definitely affected cost but was worth it to have all our friends and family there. We saved big on almost everything because we did most of the wedding ourselves, but of course it ended up being more than we expected because you don’t take into account all the little things like stamps. We saved really big on invites, I did and printed them myself, so it cost about $40! We definitely splurged on the videographer because the pictures and video we will have forever to remember our day. Our photographer was our best friend, so we didn’t have to spend a ton on that (and luckily I’m obsessed with her photographs!). I really, really loved the videographer, so we didn’t care to spend money on that.
Recap your big day for us.
The whole day was very relaxed! I had my bridesmaids there to help me set up, and they always make me laugh! Me and my now husband cried a lot that day because we knew the gravity of what we were doing and it filled us with so much uncontrollable joy! The feeling I got right before and when I walked down the aisle was like nothing I ever felt. I literally didn’t look at anyone except my soon-to-be husband. It was truly like it was only me and him there, and once we were joined together at the end of the aisle all our nerves dissipated. Literally everything could not have gone more perfect, not a thing went wrong! It was saying the entire week that it was 100% thunderstorms on our wedding day even the day-of, and we never saw a drop of rain and it was the most beautiful day!!
What’s the best advice you can give a bride and groom planning their wedding?
It is the happiest time of your life, so do not get stressed about little details that don’t matter that don’t let you sit back and enjoy your wedding day! Be relaxed, and it will be the best day ever!
What do you look forward to most as Mr. & Mrs.?
Our life begins now! I want to just relax and enjoy it being just me and him before we start having little babies!
What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage?
Nothing has really surprised me yet. Marriage is AWESOME! We don’t have to leave each other every night, which was always the worst part of our day. Cooking together, just being together! The only weird thing is that going home isn’t going “home” anymore…it’s weird to not go to my parents’ house at night or anything!
