Y’all!! We are so excited to introduce you to Katelyn and Brandon’s stunning contemporary boho wedding and our new cover wedding! We were swooning from the second we saw this wedding, and know you will too! Vivid colors, gorgeous photos by Texture Photo, and unique details –– eeeek! We could go on and on for days, but instead, we’ll just let you check it out for yourself! Start scrolling!
How did you meet?
“I was a freshman cheerleader, and he was a junior basketball player on the rival team. The first game of the season we both caught each others eye and were interested immediately. We had mutual friends so our paths crossed here and there. It wasn’t until I graduated high school and began college that we started seeing each other. We’ve been attached at the hip ever since.”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“Fairly immediate once we began spending time with each other on a consistent basis. Ironically, in high school I pointed him out to my mom at that same game that we met and told her that he was my future husband.”
What is your favorite quality in your husband?
“He loves with everything he has. He gives his heart to everyone and everything that he comes in contact with.”
Hardest part of wedding planning?
“My wedding planner, Eileen Sommi, took the majority of the stress off of me. The most complicated and stressful part for me was being bombarded with questions from family and friends. They had great intent, but it went all the way to the day of. I eventually handed off my phone to one of my bridesmaids during the bridal luncheon, and it was the best thing that I could’ve done for myself.”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“I really wanted for it to feel classic— yet boho. In my head I strived for it to be Old World in a sense with a pop of contemporary vibes.”
How about your dress or attire?
“Very boho. I had envisioned myself in a very sleek and simple dress, but when I put on the lace-bell-sleeved gown, it just fit. BHLDN delivered the best bridal experience out of any other boutique that I had visited, and that made me feel confident and comfortable in my own skin.”
What was the most memorable moment?
“I’d say that my most memorable parts of the day were the times that we were able to just be with one another. Not greeting other people, or surrounded by the masses, but just together the two of us. Our first look, the pictures immediately following the ceremony, etc.
Also, dancing my niece (flower girl) to sleep on the dance floor. She tried so hard to party all night long, but fell asleep almost instantly in my arms.”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“We chose ‘Whatever It Is’ by Zac Brown Band. To us, it’s always been a song that when it comes on the radio, gives us the warm and fuzzies. We have always sung it at the top of our lungs and it over the years has become our song.”
Tell us about your grand exit!
“Young Hearts invited everyone outside to prepare for us, and we got to share one last dance by ourselves. It was so special. I don’t even remember what we song we danced to, but we were so connected and present with one another that it didn’t even matter. Our bridesmaids and groomsmen greeted us outside with (biodegradable *super cool*) poppers and everyone else held wands. I never expected for it to feel so special, but it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the day.”
