How we met:

John Ryan and I met on a Friday night when I was working at Toot’s South (a restaurant in Murfreesboro, Tennessee). He, his best friend Joshua, and his best friend’s (now) wife Olivia came in to eat. My section was closed off, and all I had left to do before I left was to have my work checked by the closing server, and turn in my paperwork to the closing manager, Nick. Nick sat them in my closed section. I was so mad! All I wanted to do was go home. So anyways, I took their drink orders, and went to turn them in. Next thing I knew, Nick was at their table talking. If you’ve ever been a server, you know that seeing your manager at a table is normally not a good sign. Little did I know, Nick, Joshua, and John Ryan were all college buddies. While I was getting their drinks, Nick was talking me up to John Ryan, telling him how I was an Education major, etc.! I returned to the table with their drinks, took their order, and went to the computer to ring it in. Nick folloed me over to the computer and started talking John Ryan up! He told me about his Finance degree, how he was a nice guy, etc. Of course, I was already checking John Ryan out, but he didn’t know that! They ended up staying for at least three more hours (poor Olivia)! At this point, I didn’t care if I left at 3am; I was really enjoying their company. After John Ryan and Joshua consumed quite a few “beverages,” John Ryan picked up a comment card and filled it out for me. He put a lot of funny things on there, but my favorite was, “My waitress was smoking like a box of Marlboro Reds!” We had so much fun that night. Nick wanted me to give John Ryan my number, but I don’t give my number out to customers, so Nick brought John Ryan a piece of receipt paper, and he wrote down his number. I texted him about five minutes after they left! We talked all night and all day Saturday. We made plans for him to take me out on Sunday. He came all the way from McMinnville and took me to O’Charley’s. We had a great time! We went back to my apartment to watch a movie. He asked me to be his girlfriend that night, June 26, and we’ve been together every since!

The proposal:

John Ryan proposed on August 3, 2013. He and I had sporadically decided to take a weekend trip to Panama City Beach, Florida. On Saturday night of the vacation, we went to dinner at Angelo’s Steakhouse. After dinner, I wanted to go on the beach and take some pictures before sunset. We did, and John Ryan said he needed to go back to the room. So, we did, and then John Ryan decided to come back out to the beach. It was right as the sun was going down. We walked for a little while along the beach. I could tell he was nervous about something; he was fidgeting a lot! I stopped for a moment and looked out across the ocean. He came up behind me, wrapped his arms around my waist, with the ring pinched between his finger, and asked me to marry him!

John Ryan and I have been engaged, my bridesmaids and I have attended every Pink Bridal Show in Murfreesboro and Nashville! I’ve gotten some great ideas for the wedding and reception, and we have had a blast at every show!

The wedding:

We are getting married on July 12, 2014, on Sewanee Mountain, in Sewanee, Tennessee! The ceremony will take place on the edge of a cliff, overlooking a gorgeous valley, and the reception will take place in an event barn on the same site! It’s going to be so beautiful!

Many congratulations, John Ryan and Logan! We couldn’t be happier for you.

Happy Pink Planning!

Be sure to leave your congratulations to the happy couple in the comments!
