We met on a summer night on Douglas Lake at Brandon’s parents’ house with some friends. We knew right away that this was it. A year later, he proposed there on that pavilion where we first met. We were engaged for a year and had our wedding at The Lily Barn. The most memorable moment of the day was when I stood inside the Lily Barn’s hedge maze, and our photographer had Brandon come find me. This was the first time he would see me in my wedding dress. Brandon came around a corner and saw me, and he almost fell over. I could see his eyes tearing up, and he told me that I was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
Brandon helped out a lot. He handled all the groomsmen and also helped set up the reception area and the gazebo for the wedding. We used simple candles in mason jars. It really set the reception area off and made for an unforgettable night.
Planning a wedding can be stressful but do not let it overtake you. This day is all about you and your new husband, and nothing can change that.
I really enjoyed our DJ, Noyes Entertainment. He got everybody out on the dance floor, even my grandmother! The catering which was done the Lily Barn was delicious! The BBQ was tender, and we had a lot of compliments on it! The Lily Barn also did our cakes. Brandon loved his Pac-Man groom’s cake, and our actual wedding cake was unbelievably beautiful as well as delicious…strawberry with cream cheese icing! The Lily Barn also did our hand-tied floral bouquets featuring sunflowers with a wildflower look.
We went to Marcos Island, Florida. We booked our honeymoon through Homeaway.com.
