LOVE STORY: Joey and I actually met when we were in fourth grade! We were friends from the start but didn’t actually start dating until the start of our senior year of high school. We have always had a great connection and tons of fun together. I think we both knew long before we ever started dating that we would end up married one day.

When he proposed, he took me around to all of the places that were special in our first years together. He took me to where we first met, where we went on our first date, where we had our first kiss, and then to the park where we had one of our favorite memories from years before to make another memory as he asked me to be his wife.

WEDDING PLANNING: We were engaged for 16 months. We did not hire a planner and did everything on our own. I think that makes it so much more special because we have a lot to be proud of. I used The Knot a lot to make sure I was getting things done as recommended and Pinterest was a life-saver! I chose everything from my colors to my flowers based on pins I found on Pinterest.

The most important thing to us about the wedding was definitely having the best photographer and videographer that we could find. Jim and Krisna Goodwin and Keith Dixon did such an amazing job of capturing the magic of the day in their photographs and video. It was also important for us to find someone special to us to perform the ceremony. We adore Jason and his family and look up to he and his wife as our role models in marriage.

My vision really centered around the beauty of the venue. We didn’t do a lot of decorating simply because I did not want to take away from the natural beauty of the place. I knew the guests would be marveling over the amazing home and the stunning mountain views, and that was exactly what drew us to the venue.

Our colors were coral and turquoise.

WEDDING ADVICE: The best advice I have for a bride and groom planning their wedding is to not let the little details get in the way of the big picture. Enjoy the process. It goes by so fast and is such a wonderful time in your lives. Everything will work out, and your day will be perfect. So, when times get tough, just breathe and remember what it’s all about.

What we are most looking forward to is moving into our first home this year! We are in the process of building a home, so we are really excited to move in, settle down, and start our family.
