How did you meet?
“We met at an Ole Miss football game. We both went to Ole Miss, but we had never met. We had mutual friends. I had arrived late to the game and everyone stands on the bleachers, but there was no room left. I just stood in front of my friends on the ground and Benton turned around and saw that I could not see and scooted over to let me watch the game. We started talking and have been ever since!”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“I do not think there was a specific moment for either of us. It was just the more we spent time together, the more we wanted to be with each other. We loved being around each other and one day we just knew we loved each other.”
What is your favorite quality in your husband/wife?
Courtney: “My favorite quality in Benton is his heart and how genuine he is.”
Benton: “My favorite quality in Courtney is that she is very caring and she is always there for me.”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“I wanted the theme to be simple, classic, traditional, and sweet.”
What was the most memorable moment?
Courtney: “There are so many to choose from! Benton and I walking back down the aisle as husband and wife was one of my favorites. I have gone to Christ United Methodist Church my whole life and I went elementary school there. It was so special to be surrounded by all of our loved ones and walking back down the aisle with the love of my life! What a blessing!
I also loved the moments with my family. I loved being able to have my mom and sister help me put my dress on and dancing with my dad. Those were really sweet moments. Finally, I loved dancing the night away with Benton and all of my family and friends!”
Benton: “The first dance was definitely the most memorable!”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“‘How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)’ by Marvin Gaye. We chose this song because it was a classic and felt it represented our relationship pretty well.”
Tell us about your grand exit!
“We chose for our guests to wave red pompoms as we made our grand exit! We thought it would be perfect since we are Ole Miss fans and we met at the Ole Miss football game.”
Happily Ever After Courtney & Benton!
