This backyard wedding in Johnson City, TN shot by the wonderful Madeline Trent Photography is by far one of our favorite celebrations! Macy and Greg’s simple, yet elegant backyard affair did not disappoint or leave out any stylish details! From her undeniably chic wedding dress to their sweet furry guest, it is all heart eyes over here! See it all below with commentary from the couple themselves!
How did you meet?
“We reconnected through a mutual friend in Johnson City, TN. The next day Greg offered to bring me lunch for a little break from work. After some enjoyable time together, we quickly started dating.”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“During a quickly planned trip to Santorini with friends, I had to leave early for my sister’s nursing school graduation. We had an unbelievably adventurous last night in Greece. We had an entire restaurant to ourselves overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Our server and cab driver made for some great memories and a stray dog didn’t leave our side. Greg says he looked at me sitting on the curb of the restaurant, loving on this sweet dog, drinking wine; and his heart opened up and was filled up with me.”
What is your favorite quality in your husband/wife?
“Macy’s best quality is her warmth and her heart. Greg is his love, support and encouragement.”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“A cocktail party at our home to celebrate our foreverness!”
How about your dress or attire?
“Simple and elegant. Greg kept it casual by skipping the tie and sporting some formal sneakers! I fell in love with the Alexandra Grecco gown for the simplicity. We wanted our guests to be comfortable as if they were at their own home.”
What was the most memorable moment?
Greg: “Macy accidentally popped a kiss right after she walked down the aisle.”
Macy: “Since it was at our home and after everyone had left, our DJ played our first song again and we danced together once last time for the night. It was so sweet having that moment just the two of us. After we toasted, we had champagne sitting in the backyard recapping the wonderful weekend.”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“Charles Bradley’s ‘Victim of Love’; You can feel the love he is singing about in his soul. We have loved listening to this song since we have been dating!”
Tell us about your grand exit!
“Since we were married at our home we forewent the grand exit. Instead, as we recessed from the ceremony, we were surrounded by our guests and had a picture taken from our master bedroom window.”
