Be prepared to fall head over heels in love with this wedding you guys! Not only are Autumn and Scott the absolute sweetest, their wedding is beyond gorgeous! The simple and elegant theme makes way for the real reason of the day to shine through! However, there is no shortage of wedding inspiration either! All captured beautifully by Details Nashville, and featured on the cover of our Summer/Fall 2018 issue of the Tennessee Weddings by The Pink Bride Magazine! Check it all out below with insight from the couple themselves!
What is your favorite quality in your husband/wife?
Autumn: “My favorite quality about Scott is his character. He always does the right thing, even when it isn’t easy.”
Scott: “My favorite quality about Autumn is her heart. She has unparalleled compassion to patients, friends, and family. We both love our shared sense of humor – inside jokes and making everyday life funny and fun together.”
How did you meet?
“At our CrossFit gym happy hour which inspired one of our signature cocktails at the wedding – ‘Starcrossfit Lovers.’”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“We came from very different backgrounds, so we were apprehensive to date at first, but there was undeniable chemistry from the start. We knew we were falling in love when I had a brain clot and was hospitalized a couple months after we started dating. Scott was away on vacation with his family and flew back early to be with me in the hospital. When Scott arrived, I knew everything was going to be okay.”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“Simple, elegant, and romantic. We wanted it to really feel like us. Down to earth, easy, and fun!”
How about your dress or attire?
“I also wanted my dress to be simple and elegant. We wanted our bridal party to feel comfortable and beautiful (or handsome). The colors were Autumn’s favorite. She got to go to the Jenny Yoo store in NYC with her best friend to pick out the perfect shade of blue.”
What traditions did you incorporate?
“We were very intentional with our interfaith ceremony. We involved Autumn’s pastor and Scott’s rabbi, both of which said a few very moving words. We incorporated the Christian tradition of a unity candle, and Jewish traditions including standing under a chuppah, signing a ketubah, saying a blessing over the wine and the seven blessings in Hebrew and English, Scott broke the glass, and of course we danced the hora!”
What was the most memorable moment?
“The ceremony. We both said to each other why we loved each other and why we were marrying each other. It was a culmination of working through so many differences, choosing each other, and bringing together two worlds in an intentional and beautiful way that felt so right.”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“‘Yours to Bear’ by HoneyHoney. We’ve been to many of their concerts together (even wore matching shirts once to get noticed), met them, and love their songs. Great lyrics that resonated with us.”
Tell us about your grand exit!
“The awesome guys at Details Nashville made a same day edit video we got to watch with our guests, then went out in a sparkler send off, dancing all the way!”
Congratulations once again Autumn & Scott!
