We don’t have words to describe how sweet and joyful this wedding was! Caylee & Bobby are serious #couplegoals, and it doesn’t take that long to see that! Just for starters, Bobby knew he loved his future wife even BEFORE they started dating and when he finally told her and she recipicated, he shouted it for everyone to hear! We know you’re going to fall in love with this couple, so get all the details from them below!
How did you meet?
“We both played collegiate basketball. He says he saw me for the first time as the women’s team was finishing up practice before the men’s team took the court. He asked his teammates, ‘Who is that girl? She looks good in gym shorts.’ and they responded, ‘Not gonna happen, man. You are a freshman.’”
When did you know you were falling in love with Bobby?
“For the first year that we knew each other, we were friends. He continually told me that we were going to date. He was such a friend to me first and kept pursuing me, and I realized, ‘Oh, I really do like him!’ We began dating and one day underneath a willow tree, we were having one of those deep conversations, and I thought to myself, ‘I really just want to do this forever. I only want to do life with Bobby Braziel.’”
Bobby, how about you?
“For me, I knew I was in love with Caylee before we even started dating. But the first time I told her I loved her was pretty epic. I took her kayaking in the Tennessee River. My kayak of course, had a hole in it, which I did not realize until we reached the spot that I was going to tell her. We tied up our kayaks, climbed this silo in the water, and hung our feet over looking out at the lake. I was so nervous, but I knew it was game time. I took some deep breaths and said, ‘Caylee, I really really love you! I love you a lot! Like more than life!’ She told me she loved me back and I started to shout it over the lake.”
What is your favorite quality in your husband/wife?
“My favorite quality in my husband is how free and joyful he is. He has a zest for life like no other. He teaches me to laugh and play, because those are the moments that really count. I truly adore him.”
“My favorite quality about my wife is that she loves God more than anything. She is kind and treats everyone like they are the most important person in the whole world. She has every ounce of me.”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“We LOVE the outdoors and we wanted our ceremony to be over the lake and with mountains in the background. God’s creation is so beautiful!”
How about your dress or attire?
“My dress was something that I was okay splurging on. The best wedding advice I was given, was to choose 3 things that are really important to you, and go ahead and spend the money on them. Mine was my dress. I wanted an open pretty back and a long train! I had a fit and flair style and it was perfect. I felt the most beautiful I ever have!”
What was the most memorable moment?
“The most memorable moment was coming around the corner and seeing Bobby at the end of the aisle. There were so many people there celebrating us, my Dad holding my hand, and we had our eyes locked on each other, feeling that nothing in the world matter. The joy was un-explainable!”
What traditions did you incorporate?
“Our favorite part of the wedding was that during the ceremony, we did a foot washing. This is to represent how we are choosing to serve one another the way that Jesus has come to serve us and asked us to set this example. As husband and wife, we are each other’s number one person to serve. We wanted to start our marriage and show that example by washing the other’s feet. This is shows that the feet can be dirty and smelly, but we are willing to get in the messy parts of life with each other and choose to serve.”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“Our first song was Ben Rector’s cover of ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’. We wanted an up beat song that we could dance to!”
Tell us about your grand exit!
“We loved the sparklers! They are so fun and romantic! The dip kiss was so fun as all our favorite people were cheering. We exited by boat and got to boat away from our wedding looking at the stars over the Tennessee River. It was the best day of our lives. It was perfect to hold each other, silent, over looking the moon on the water and breathing everything in.”
