The rehearsal dinner is a wonderful way for the bride, groom, and their families to relax before the big day. To create a truly unique atmosphere, you’ll have to take a look at all the details of your venue and meal, and give them a special twist to really rock your rehearsal dinner. I spoke with Allison Swan, the Sales and Marketing Manager of Memphis restaurant Amerigo, to learn about three great ways to personalize your rehearsal dinner. Also, be sure to check out an earlier post when Allison was a guest-blogger for The Pink Bride and gave us some fabulous advice on choosing a rehearsal dinner venue!

1. Bring in your own decor for the rehearsal dinner.

While the restaurant that’s hosting your pre-wedding get-together is sure to be wonderful and decorated beautifully, Allison suggests bringing in some of your own decorations to really give the atmosphere a personal touch and make it say you. She mentions that some brides like to bring in their own floral arrangements, framed pictures, or other personal items to give their rehearsal dinner some unique flair. Some restaurants have an audio visual screen on hand so brides and grooms can get a slide show going to entertain their guests throughout the meal!

2. Customize your rehearsal dinner menu.

Is your groom a huge of all-things-seafood? Are you absolutely crazy about lasagna? Allison encourages couples to talk with their rehearsal dinner restaurant to come up with a menu that highlights the bride and groom’s favorite dishes. Whether it’s an extension of the type of food that will be served at your wedding or simply a meal or yummy side dishes that you just happen to thoroughly enjoy, be sure to personalize your rehearsal dinner with some amazing recipes!

3. Have your rehearsal dinner restaurant serve a special wedding cocktail.

While food and drink is an important part of your wedding reception, it’s even more essential for your rehearsal dinner! To add a personal twist to your rehearsal dinner, Allison tells us that serving a signature cocktail at the meal is a fabulous idea. If you don’t already have a special cocktail for the wedding, consider discussing a possible signature drink with your rehearsal dinner venue. It can be a totally new concoction or a delicious twist on a classic!
