You’re in for a real treat with this classic wedding with touches of sparkle, glam, and sweet traditions! Azlinn & Jarrod’s beautiful day is packed full of inspiration and gorgeous images by the always wonderful Ashley Spangler Photography! We’ll have heart eyes for days over this one! See it all below with behind-the-scenes commentary from Azlinn herself!
How did you meet?
“We met at the University of Tennessee! It was my first semester in the Retail and Consumer Science program and Jarrod’s last semester in the Honors Engineering program! God crossed our paths at UT in just enough time to meet and fall in love!”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“After our first date we knew that something was extremely special about each other! We both have a love for God, our families/friends, and enjoy the same things! We love to stay active by playing sports, hiking, and traveling together! We knew after just a few dates that we had found the one! It is truly magical when you fall in love with the one God has planned for you to be with forever!”
What is your favorite quality in your husband/wife?
Azlinn: “The way he makes me laugh and feel loved!”
Jarrod: “The way she always takes care of me and continuously shows me so much grace and love!”
What traditions did you incorporate?
“We incorporated many traditions into our wedding. We chose to get married in the most beautiful center aisle church in Knoxville with stunning chandeliers and stain glass windows. Arm and arm my father and I walked down the aisle to the traditional song, ‘Here Comes the Bride.’ After being given away we sang ‘How Great Thou Art,’ took communion, lit the Eternity candle, and exchanged written vows. After the ceremony we headed to the reception where we incorporated traditions of the first dances, cutting of the cake, and toasts, and memories that will last a lifetime.”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“The theme of our wedding was a formal, traditional theme mixed with a classy, romantic flare. The design of the wedding was a mixture of the bride and groom personalities. The wedding ceremony was wisped with light tulle down the aisle and a white runner enveloped with rose petals. At the altar, the arch was covered in peonies, summer greenery, and crystals that sparkled with the sun shining in from the stain glass windows. It created such a romantic feeling for the ceremony.”
How about your dress or attire?
“The attire for our wedding was a formal black tie wedding. The groom and groomsmen wore a traditional black tux and the bridesmaids wore beautiful off the shoulder tulle gowns with metallic sequin on the top. I wore a custom Nicole gown, designed in Milan, from Bridals by Lori from the popular TV show, Say Yes to Dress.
This gown was customly designed with liquid crystals on the bodice and covered with lace. The gown has a fitted bodice with a romantic sweetheart neckline. The reason why we chose this gown is because it had a second layer to it that made it one of a kind! The dress had an attachable ballgown skirt to hook on for the ceremony and to take off for the reception! It made for a true show stopping dress for both occasions. I also had a grand exit dress from Elite Pour La Vie to wear as my husband whisked me away by the well known luxury designer, Berta.”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“‘Infinity’ by Emily Ann Roberts! Emily Ann is a rising star from the Voice! The song is such a sweet testimony to finding the one, growing old with them, and loving each other to infinity!”
What was the most memorable moment?
“Our first dance! I felt like we were floating while were were dancing. It was one of those moments when you feel like everything is right, just, and perfect. We felt like time had paused for us to have that moment of realizing we were a married couple and we were going to be each others dancing partners, for infinity.”
Tell us about your grand exit!
“Our grand exit started from the booming dance floor. Everyone was laughing, dancing, and having the time of their lives! As we started towards the car everyone lined up on the long winding aisle to the ‘Just Married’ decorated car! The rose petals and bubbles started to fly and the double front doors swung open wide and we ran hand in hand as husband and wife to say our goodbyes and leave for our 2 week honeymoon to the beautiful island of Antigua!”
Best wishes Azlinn & Jarrod from all of us at The Pink Bride!
