Everyone loves playing yard games, and including them in your wedding day activities is sure to be a big hit! It’s a great way to get your guests to interact with each other, as well as allowing you to spend time with multiple guests at once. Instead of walking around table to table and giving quick hugs, playing Jenga with your guests makes them really feel like you appreciate their presence. Plus, yard games are fun, so why wouldn’t you want to play them on your wedding day? We think they’re a slam dunk, so read on for some ideas about wedding day yard games!

1. Ring Toss

What better game for a wedding than ring toss?? It’s easy and cheap to set up, and in a way it follows the theme of the day! Rope off an area, set out some bottles (extra points if they are decorated in your wedding color palette!), and hang some rings. It’s such a simple game that can be single player or in a group, and it is fun for all ages!

2. Word Search

Word search is another game that is ideal for a wedding because it can be played in a group or solo. One of your guests has a kid that won’t sit still during the first dance? No worries, they can send them off to play word search! Plus, the words you hide in the search can all follow a theme, like “How We Met” or “Our Favorite Things.” How cute is that??

3. Jenga

Jengaaaa! This classic game is always fun, but the giant yard game version? Even more so! The giant blocks can be purchased at various retailers, or, if you’re particularly crafty, you could make them yourself. Splitting into teams like Bridesmaids vs. Groomsmen or Bride’s family vs. Groom’s family will really bring out the competitive spirit in everyone, and will be so much fun!

4. Tic-Tac-Toe

Turn this simple game from your childhood into a super fun game for your wedding! No pencil and paper needed for this version, just turn a pallet into the board and spray paint wooden X’s and O’s. This game is sure to keep your guests entertained during cocktail hour, and we love how simple it is to create!

You can choose whatever you want to write on the wheel to personalize the game and make it extra special. This is such a great way to get everyone involved in the games and so many memories will be made!
