When did you know you were falling in love?
I knew I was falling in love with my husband after returning home from a summer mission trip spent in Kenya. This short chapter of service impacted and shaped my life in many ways. With new-found perspective, I could see what I truly valued, sought after, and wanted in my life. To Austin’s excitement, this life revelation was his one-way ticket out of friendzone!
What would you recommend to every bride-to-be?
One piece of advice I’d give to every bride-to-be is to cherish and enjoy this short season of life because it really does fly by. Rather than getting caught up in every single detail of a wedding that will last a day, invest energy in building a solid foundation for your marriage that will last a lifetime.
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
‘Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran was our first dance song. All the credit for our first dance song goes to Austin. From the first time he heard it he just knew it was the “perfect” song for us and I could not agree more.
What traditions did you incorporate?
We incorporated traditional vows and attire. We also did not see each other prior to the ceremony and Austin did not see my gown until I walked down the aisle.
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
Our inspiration was the beautiful historic train station. We filled the station with antique luggage, skeleton keys, antique doors and beautiful floral arrangements.
What was the most memorable moment?
The most memorable part of my wedding day was getting to the aisle and seeing Austin at the other end. All my nervousness and anxiety was replaced by joy and ease. As I began to walk towards him, it felt like we were the only two in the room.
What is your favorite quality in your husband?
My favorite quality in my husband is he never fails to make me laugh. No matter what struggles each day brings, he ensures I’ll never miss out on enjoying life. He also doesn’t limit my amount of daily chocolate intake, which is a very becoming quality!
