How did you meet?
“The day we met I had my two girlfriends visiting me from Nashville. The three of us were headed to a 4th of July pool party at The Retreat in Knoxville. While in route, we hit one of the many Knoxville potholes HARD which resulted in her axle becoming unhinged. As we arrived at the gate, we quickly realized her car would not make it up the steep hill to the clubhouse. In true damsel-in-distress fashion, we were soon rescued by a Jeep with Luke and his two buddies. Little did I know, the handsome blue eyed boy, coming to my rescue, would become my future husband. Needless-to-say, we spent all day together & haven’t gone a day without speaking since!”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“From the first day we met, we couldn’t go a single day without speaking.”
What is your favorite quality in your husband/wife?
“He always puts me first. I always feel like I am his number one priority.”
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
“Yes, we wanted something that felt like us. We love the outdoors, so an outside ceremony was paramount. I wanted to keep with my boho style, but incorporate pops of vibrant colors to match our vivacious personalities!”
How about your dress or attire?
“I was certain I wanted an open back, form fitting dress. Katie May is known for her sexy, open back gowns & I fell in love with her California, laid back designs.”
What was the most memorable moment?
“Our first look on the gorgeous 1920’s moss coverage stone bridge tucked away on the Smithview grounds. It was so special to see his sweet reaction. It was one of the only moments we had alone all day, to truly absorb all the emotions together.”
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“‘Wild Horses’ cover by The Sundays. The line ‘Wild horses, couldn’t drag me away’ –– means that not even wild horses could drag me away from our love. A love that has overcome obstacles and stayed strong and true.”
Happy Ever After Mary & Luke!
