Marleigh and Timothy’s Arkansas wedding went off without any (big) glitches thanks to the bride’s super-steady wedding planning techniques and eye for creativity! We’re in love with the vintage, country-chic décor and details throughout the celebration. We’re even more in love with the time and attention the bride put into planning those details throughout her year-long engagement! From cowgirl boots on the ladies to casual attire for the men, we can’t help but swoon over the combination of vintage meets country. Add to this a homespun wedding reception, and you’ve got one amazing party on your hands! Scroll on to view the details.

Tell about your love story!
Timothy and I went to high school together! Although we didn’t hang out back then, I am so glad God brought us together! We have an adorable two-year-old son, and we can’t wait to continue growing our family! Timothy is such a hopeless romantic, which is why I was surprised when he popped out from under the bed to pop the question!!! He is a hoot!!
Recap your big day for us.
Our day began at Goulds Hair Salon at 10:00am. I am one of the receptionists at Goulds, and my manager was my stylist! I picked the most intricate, beautiful, vintage up-do from Pinterest, of course, and he nailed it! From there, the limo was supposed to pick us up from the salon and drive us to our venue in Arkansas. They pulled up in a six-seater Suburban and claimed that I should have specified “stretch” if I wanted a limo. It was a tiny mishap to our perfect day. We finally got a stretch Chrysler 300 and were on our way to The Barn!
My four beautiful bridesmaids made me feel like a princess on my wedding day. We shared so many incredible moments that we will never forget. My entire 11 months of planning began happening perfectly in front of my eyes! Everyone came together and pitched in, and the entire day was absolutely perfect.
The most memorable moment of my wedding day was the feeling in my belly when I walked down that aisle to my handsome husband!!!! There was no way I could hold my tears back and my daddy was right there to hold me up! The evening was everything I imagined and more. We had an incredible time becoming Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Meggs!
What about the details?
Obviously, Pinterest is the answer to this question. I lived, breathed, and dreamt Pinterest. I am obsessed with vintage and antiques and, of course, since it was spring I loved floral! I ordered vintage mismatched tea dresses from Etsy (Mokkafiveoclock) as the bridesmaid dresses. I shopped on an auction site from Facebook called “Junk in the Trunk Auction” and collected watering cans, floral tea cans, milk jugs, shutters, Samsonite suitcases, and more! We even made our own photobooth and covered it with floral wallpaper (Ebay).
Describe your wedding planning process.
We were engaged for 11 months, and in my opinion, that was the perfect amount of time! I did every single bit of planning my wedding. I am very particular and organized so I thoroughly enjoyed the planning process! Pinterest was a huge inspiration and my main source. I attended two Pink Bridal Shows while I was a bride! They are an absolute blast!!! I purchased my wedding dress at the first one (It was HALF OFF!!!!), and I went to another and found our amazing photographer! The best decision we made was choosing Aleks McGraw Photography! She is an amazing person to work with and has an extreme talent!!! She is now a friend for life 🙂
What was your wedding day budget (and for how many guests)?
Our budget was under $10,000. We had a very large wedding! At first, that posed a problem because 250-285 people is a whole bunch to plan and accommodate for. Our venue, The Barn in Crawfordsville, saved us a ton of money. They provided tables, chairs, an entire room full of decorations, and more. Food is the next area where we saved money. My dad cooked BBQ and chicken for all the guests. The area where we spent the most is photography! There is never a downfall to that, especially when you do your research.
What do you look forward to most as Mr. & Mrs.?
More kids!!!! A lifetime of love and laughter with my best friend!
What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage?
Well, we have only been married a few months but it has been awesome! We are still so overwhelmed with love and joy after our big day! We are in awe of how everyone came together and made our day perfect.
What’s the best advice you can give a bride and groom planning their wedding?
Do not stress at all! This process is so much fun and no matter what at the end of the day you will be married 🙂 It all goes by so fast so enjoy every moment.
A note from the photographer…
Marleigh and Tim’s wedding was one word. Perfect. Ok maybe two – perfect and vintage. This young woman poured her heart into this wedding, and boy did I notice. I received the most gorgeous invitation in the mail to her ceremony. When I say gorgeous, I’m talking everything hand written, floral, texture galore! It really made me all giddy inside because I knew from that moment on what type of bride I had on my hands, and her intricate eye for detail and vision for this wedding was truly going to be a photographer’s dream.
That dream started with us arriving at The Barn. I’m a huge sucker to anything barn/farm/rustic/vintage. I was met with tiny little tea candles inside rustic mason jars glistening in the light, hanging off the tree limbs. I walked in and literally spent 10 minutes looking through all the decor Marleigh set up. Everything had such an intimate, personal feel to it. One of the most interesting things that caught my eye was a huge wooden bench with an assortment of permanent markers on top of it. This was their guest book! What a joy it will be, years from now, to be able to look at what your guest wished you on your wedding day.
The entire wedding day went so smooth and to the plan. We went out after the ceremony and spent some time taking photos near a farm next to the church. There were horses all around us. During one of the photos where Marleigh and Tim had their eyes closed, I noticed a sneaky little visitor – the horse was licking or maybe even chewing the sequences off her dress. We have the funniest photo to prove it; his mouth was wide open. Made all of us laugh! We went straight into the reception for some of her daddy’s yummy homemade BBQ. Total southern food, just the way I like it! Mr. and Mrs. Meggs literally danced the night away all up until it was time for their sparkler send off. The last photo I got of them was of the two love birds kissing, surrounded by hundreds of sparklers. It was a fabulous, memorable evening, and I felt blessed to be a part of their day.
