If I could put one word to Amanda & Casey’s wedding it would be electric. Full of love, a first dance to end all first dances, and a stunning venue like Tellico Village Yacht Club, this celebration is one for the books! Don’t just take our word for it though, Amanda gives us all the details herself!
What is your favorite quality in your husband?
“His sense of humor. He always has the ability to turn a bad day into a good one. You just won’t remember what was so awful about that day.”
When did you know you were falling in love?
“When he met my daughter and said that night it was the best day he had in a long time.”
Did you do a first look? Would you recommend this?
“Yes! I would absolutely recommend this because it saved a lot of time where our guests weren’t waiting on us longer than 20 minutes.”
What was the hardest part of wedding planning?
“Staying on a budget! You know as a bride you bounce back and forth on what is really important to you and what you can cut corners on. My two main focuses were the DJ/band (because I want to make sure everyone is having a great time) and my photographer (because at the end of the day that is all you have to look back on for years to come).”
Did you have any specific design inspiration for your big day?
“I was going for a soft look using greys and whites.”
Favorite aspect of your wedding?
“Our first dance.”
What was your first dance song?
“We started off with ‘From the Ground Up’ by Dan + Shay. We danced to that for the first minute and a half then broke out into ‘Party Rock Anthem’ followed by ‘Worth It’, ‘The Dougie’, ‘Shake It’, ‘You’re The One That I Want’, ‘Cotton Eyed Joe’, ‘Apache’, ‘The Time of Our Lives’ and finished back to ‘From the Ground Up’ for the last minute of that song.”
Who gives the best gifts? Can you give us an example?
“I do! I typically always give a pretty creative gift. For his wedding gift, I made him a book and paired it with cuffs that had our initials on them and our wedding date, along with a little drinky drink to wash away the anxiety.”
What has surprised you most during the first few months of marriage?
“How nothing has changed. You hear these stories from others that say, ‘Just wait it, all changes after you say I do.’ Well we are almost 7 months in and literally nothing has changed, we bought a house, a new car and went through some pretty tough family tragedies, and we are stronger and happier than ever.”
Congratulations Amanda & Casey!
