Ayla and Tanner’s wedding, coordinated by Smith Event Centers, is an absolute bohemian dream. The woodsy ceremony location was the perfect location for the couple to exchange vows and begin their new adventure together. Read more about their love story and special day from Ayla!
When did you know you were falling in love?
It was seriously a love at first sight thing… We met at Tanner’s junior prom (I was a sophomore), and ended up talking that night for hours and hours after prom. I left that night knowing he was the one. Now six years later, we are married!
What is your favorite quality in your husband?
Tanner’s loyalty to not only me, but his friends and family. He has such a giving heart and always puts everyone else’s needs above his own. He is someone that you can genuinely ALWAYS count on. I love him so much.
Did you have a specific theme or design inspiration for your big day?
I love decorating, so this whole ‘wedding thing’ was so fun for me! I found a few things on Pinterest to help, but I think the wedding theme I was going for would be best described as “woodsy” or “boho” maybe. I kind of just made it up as I went!
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
“I Wish I Was” by The Avett Brothers was our first dance song. We chose this song simply because it made us instantly think of each other (and I usually got teary-eyed, of course). It has a sweet and sultry melody that just makes a person feel all mushy and in love.
What traditions did you incorporate?
Our running joke was that our wedding was anything but traditional! We did a “first look” prior to the ceremony, we didn’t do a unity during the ceremony, and I didn’t wear a garter or throw my bouquet.
How would you describe your big day in 3 words?
Simple, sweet, and fun.
What was the most memorable moment?
Saying our vows – hands down. We wrote our own vows, and I could barely speak through the tears. I am pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I will never forget the way Tanner looked at me when he was reading his vows to me. There was so much love. The ceremony was definitely my favorite part of the day.
Congratulations Ayla and Tanner from all of us at The Pink Bride!
